Dunu LUNA Flagship Pure Beryllium Driver In-Ear Monitors Featuring a circular and concave faceplate, the build physically represents the changing albedo of the moon from one phase to the next. The CNC body uses custom-formed titanium alloy, which is then sandblasted. Facets on the body reflect subtle specular highlights, while the concave shape draws in a penumbra of shadow. Despite the artistic sensibilities used in the design of this IEM, the build also serves to easy insertion and removal of the earpiece. Beryllium Moving Coil driver for that reference level sound The Dunu Luna is powered by beryllium moving coil driver unit which provides reference level sound signature with deep and natural imaging. The diaphragm made of beryllium has extremely high stiffness that can greatly reduce distortion, it is also very light in weight which helps to get better dynamic and transient response. It improves the sound quality greatly, and has lower impedance and better sensitivity making it easier to drive. Dunu has used space-grade materials like grade 5 titanium alloy coating over the beryllium drivers to bring out natural timbre without any colourful mixture by the driver. The pure beryllium moving-coil diaphragm creates top-level sound, with a wide soundstage, excellent resolution and depth while maintaining a lush sound experience. The technology has been developed for the past three years working day and night to provide its consumers professional-grade reference level sound output. Genuine Beryllium The acoustic grade rolled foil beryllium at the heart of LUNA's 10-millimetre speaker module is sourced from Materion Corporation (née Brush Wellman Electrofusion), the world's foremost extractor and processor of beryllium metals. Beryllium is believed to be the ideal speaker material. An extremely high stiffness-to-mass ratio allows beryllium to possess a very high speed of sound at over 12,000 meters per second, around two and a half times faster than other commonly used cone/diaphragm materials like aluminium. To harness and control the motion of the beryllium foil, LUNA's N52 Neodymium magnetic system was custom-ordered to impart much higher magnetic flux across the European-imported CCAW voice coil, especially when compared to conventional magnet systems. Ergonomic Design for that comfortable fit The Dunu Luna, along with its premium alloy build shells, has an ergonomic design which provides a comfortable fit for long listening sessions. It is so lightweight and ergonomic that you will forget that it is even in your ears. Cable and accessories The cable material used for the LUNA is mixed strands of Furukawa Electric Ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) copper and DHC silver, with silver-plated OCC copper shield surround with the patented DUNU Quick-Switch modular plug system, as well as the patented Catch-Hold MMCX connectors. With the LUNA you also get a full set of modular connectors as well as a USB Type-C DAC (DTC-100) and a USB Type-C to Type-A converter included so it will work with your computer in addition to music players and mobiles.
